Cover and Feature Story

Either of these entries invites guests to step in to style. One is done with a prudent eye on the purse; the other has a more expansive bottom line.

NOTE FROM KATHERINE: I was in charge of producing and writing the popular feature High/Low for several years. “Comfort & Joy” was my favorite one. Frankly, High/Low was a giant pain to produce. But readers loved it so I was stuck. I felt with “Comfort & Joy” I had finally moved beyond producing product stories, however, and was able to craft a true design story worthy of our cover. The accomplishment was bittersweet – this was Met Home’s final issue. The model was our lovely intern, who forgot to wear jeans to the shoot – thank goodness because she looked amazing on the cover!
